Who We Are
Eric and Kimberly Drury
Distant Sunrise is a faith‑based Christian project, a contemporary, rock, metal ballad style. Music that blends life struggles, deep emotion, and messages of hope for anyone walking through those valleys in the shadows of darkness and searching for the sunrise.
Distant Sunrise is carved out of grit, heartbreak, and the stubborn fire that refuses to die. This project is born from real miles, real scars, and real sunrise.
Every note. Every lyric. Every mile. It all comes from the same place — the fight to stand tall when life tries to break you.
LONG CRUDDY ROAD — THE ALBUM THAT STARTED IT ALL
This is the album that defines the Distant Sunrise identity. Raw. Unpolished. Honest. Heavy. It’s the sound of someone walking through the hardest miles of their life and refusing to stop.
Long Cruddy Road is built on four pillars:
- The Grind — the weight of everyday struggle
- The Hurt — the pain that shapes the voice
- The Healing — the slow rise from the ashes
- The Sunrise — the moment you realize you survived

The Distant Sunrise Project
More Than Music. A Mission Centered on Jesus Christ.
A Place Where Hope Rises
Life can be hard.
Some are fighting addiction.
Some are grieving the loss of someone they love.
Some struggle with anxiety, depression, or invisible disabilities.
Some have lost jobs, homes, relationships, or direction.
Many simply feel alone.
Distant Sunrise exists so no one has to walk that road alone, because Jesus never intended for us to carry our burdens by ourselves.
We believe true hope is found in Jesus Christ. Through music, faith, fellowship, prayer, and service, we seek to reflect His love and help people discover the hope, healing, and purpose found in Him.
Whether you’re a musician, a volunteer, a church member, someone searching for hope, or simply someone who wants to make a difference, there is a place for you here.
Our Foundation
Everything we do begins and ends with Jesus Christ.
Our music points to Him.
Our outreach serves in His name.
Our testimony shares His faithfulness.
Our mission is to love people as He loves us.
We believe that no person is beyond God’s grace, no story is beyond redemption, and no life is beyond restoration.
The Vision
Distant Sunrise is more than a band.
It is a growing Christ-centered outreach dedicated to connecting people across Indiana and eventually across the United States through:
- Music
- Worship
- Testimonies
- Fellowship
- Recovery Support
- Grief Support
- Prayer
- Community Outreach
- Encouragement and Hope
We envision churches opening their doors as gathering places where people can come together, share their stories, encourage one another, and learn about the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
For Musicians
Are you a singer, guitarist, drummer, bassist, keyboard player, songwriter, sound engineer, or worship leader?
Join us.
We are building a network of musicians who desire to use their gifts not for fame, but for ministry.
No matter your denomination, if you believe in Jesus Christ and want to serve others through music, encouragement, and outreach, we invite you to become part of the Distant Sunrise family.
Together, we can bring messages of faith, hope, healing, and salvation to communities everywhere.
For Those Seeking Hope
You do not have to have everything figured out.
You do not have to have a perfect past.
You do not have to walk alone.
Whether you’re battling addiction, overcoming loss, facing financial hardship, living with a disability, struggling with depression, searching for purpose, or simply needing someone to listen, we want you to know:
You matter.
Your story matters.
God loves you.
There is hope beyond today because there is hope in Jesus Christ.
What We Hope to Build
Our prayer is to establish gatherings where people can:
- Share their testimonies
- Find encouragement
- Pray together
- Connect with local churches
- Receive support through difficult times
- Find recovery resources
- Build lasting friendships
- Serve their communities
- Grow in faith
We believe every person deserves a place to belong before they feel like they have everything figured out.
Join the Journey
This mission will only succeed when believers come together with one purpose:
To share the love of Jesus Christ and serve others.
We are looking for:
- Musicians
- Churches
- Volunteers
- Prayer Partners
- Recovery Advocates
- Community Leaders
- Sponsors
- Supporters
Together we can help create places where lives are changed, families are restored, burdens are shared, and people encounter the love of Christ.
Our Mission
To bring people to Jesus Christ through music, faith, compassion, and community while creating pathways toward healing, recovery, restoration, encouragement, and hope.
Our Promise
No matter where you’ve been.
No matter what you’ve done.
No matter what you’re facing.
No matter how far away the sunrise seems.
Jesus Christ is still the light in the darkness.
There is still hope on the horizon.
Join the Journey. Share Your Story. Help Others Find Hope.
Distant Sunrise
Where Stories Become Songs, Faith Becomes Action, and Christ Is the Center of It All.
Distant Sunrise Is a Journey, and You’re Part of It
Whether you download a song, wear a shirt, volunteer at an event, share your testimony, support the outreach, or simply pray for the mission, you become part of the journey.
This is more than music.
It’s a ministry.
It’s a community.
It’s a mission.
It’s people helping people find hope through Jesus Christ.
And with God’s help, the journey is only beginning.
